Microsoft Streets & Trips has been gone for years, but the way many people used it still makes sense: put the whole journey on a map, keep many stops together and plan before you drive.
A modern planner, not a copy of the old program
RoadTripDesk is not trying to reproduce Streets & Trips screen by screen. It is a web-based road trip planning tool built around the same broader need: understanding a complete journey rather than only asking for the next navigation instruction.
Plan multi-day routes, keep stops and notes together, mark overnight stays, account for time-zone changes, share a trip and build a day-by-day roadbook.
Bring compatible EST journeys forward
If you still have old Streets & Trips .est files, RoadTripDesk can import route points from compatible files. Legacy formats differ between versions and some files contain data that cannot be reconstructed perfectly, but the goal is to preserve as much of the original route as possible.
RoadTripDesk has been tested with journeys created many years apart, including legacy trips with large numbers of route points.
Use modern route formats too
You are not locked into EST. RoadTripDesk also supports GPX, KML and CSV imports, so the planner can be useful whether your route comes from an old desktop archive or a current mapping workflow.
Built for people planning new trips as well
Streets & Trips compatibility is a useful bridge, but it is not the purpose of RoadTripDesk. The product is being built for anyone who wants a clearer way to plan a road trip with many places, several days and real itinerary decisions.
