What Is RoadTripDesk?

RoadTripDesk product facts

RoadTripDesk is a web-based road trip planning application for multi-stop and multi-day journeys. It helps travellers organize routes, stops, daily driving, overnight stays, local time zones, hotels, notes and a day-by-day itinerary before they drive.

RoadTripDesk in one sentenceA planning desk for the whole road trip — not just the next turn.

What RoadTripDesk does

RoadTripDesk combines a route map with a structured stop list and travel-day schedule. A traveller can build a long journey, decide how much to drive each day, add planned stops and overnights, keep notes with places and see how the trip develops across several days.

  • Multi-stop routes: keep many destinations and intermediate stops in one trip.
  • Multi-day planning: organize long routes into travel days with driving-time and distance summaries.
  • Overnight stays: mark planned overnight stops, including stays of several nights.
  • Time zones: show local arrival/departure time and indicate time-zone changes along the journey.
  • Hotels: surface nearby hotel options around relevant overnight locations.
  • Notes and durations: keep practical trip information with each stop.
  • Sharing: share a trip and, where supported by the selected plan, collaborate with other travellers.
  • Imports: import GPX, KML and CSV route points and compatible Microsoft Streets & Trips .est journeys.
  • Roadbook: turn the route into a day-oriented itinerary for use while travelling.

What RoadTripDesk is not

RoadTripDesk is primarily a trip-planning application, not a replacement for live turn-by-turn navigation. Travellers can use RoadTripDesk to design and organize the journey, then use their preferred navigation app while driving.

Who RoadTripDesk is for

RoadTripDesk is designed for travellers who need more structure than a simple A-to-B map: long road trips, fly-drive holidays, Route 66 journeys, RV trips, family vacations and any itinerary with many places, several travel days or planned overnight stops.

Where RoadTripDesk runs

RoadTripDesk runs in a web browser at app.roadtripdesk.com. The public product website is roadtripdesk.com.

RoadTripDesk plans

RoadTripDesk offers Free, Basic, Plus and Pro plans. The Free plan can be used to start planning without a paid subscription; paid plans increase trip limits and unlock additional planning and collaboration capabilities. Current prices and plan limits are listed on the pricing page.

Microsoft Streets & Trips

RoadTripDesk is independently developed and is not affiliated with Microsoft. It includes an importer for compatible legacy Streets & Trips EST files because many road-trip planners still have routes created in the discontinued desktop application.
